Traditions

Dearest Friends, Traditions are 'the transmission of customs or beliefs from generation to generation, or the fact of being passed on in this way." We all have traditions, we love our traditions especially family traditions.  I remember as a child my sister and I would always get new Easter dresses every year and every Easter morning my siblings and I would hunt for our Easter Basket from the Easter Bunny but we were never allowed to touch it until after church. I loved our family get together's for Sunday brunch and Easter egg hunts. Priceless childhood memories.  So why do I now not celebrate Easter with my own kids the way I was taught as a child to do? I loved getting an Easter basket and the egg hunts were always so much fun! Why wouldn't I want my kids to experience the same fun family traditions as I did? What if the traditions that are being passed down are wrong? What if these traditions are not of God nor approved by HIM? Would you still continue to celebrat...

Convictions

Convictions- I believe the more time we spend with God in HIS word, in prayer contemplating over what we're reading, praying for wisdom and understanding the more we are convicted by God. The MORE we seek HIM the closer we draw to HIM and the more HE opens our eyes and ears to see and hear. We are all in different places in our convictions and there is nothing wrong with that as long as YOU are making it a priority to intentionally seek HIM on a daily basis. The more you seek God the more you find yourself growing in your faith, growing in HIM and you find yourself maturing, changing and finding yourself on a road that has veered off from your family and friends. It can be a lonely road with not many walking with you if any at all.  Music you once listened to you now find inappropriate, jokes you once laughed at now seem distasteful, movies you once watched no longer hold there appeal. Growth is happening. When we are growing in and with the Lord we are not the same version of us a...

21 Days & A Family Saved

Dearest Friends, Have you ever felt the need to fast? Like a calling to fast, a deep down can't get rid of niggling need that is persistent in your thoughts. You don't understand why as you've never fasted before nor have you any knowledge on the why's or how to's of fasting.  I felt that need. An inexplicable need to fast. No rhyme or reason as to why.  Did you know there's 109 verses in the Bible on fasting? In all the times I've read my Bible I've never really taken note of all the times people fasted nor did I make the connection on how we should still be fasting today. Honestly, I thought fasting wasn't really relevant today unless you were fasting to lose weight. Little did I know that fasting is a spiritual discipline that is not only taught in the Bible but is still relevant and very much needed today. Why did I need to fast? Why this inexplicable need to fast all of a sudden? A lady of faith that I follow on Instagram Camille McIntyre of Bec...

Celebrating In A Pandemic

Image
Dearest Friends, It's been to long since we've last corresponded. How I've missed writing to you all, how I've missed connecting with you through my writing. How have you been? Truly, I would love to know. Before we celebrate the then and now I want to take you back to a time, a time that wasn't that long ago in which we all learned how to celebrate at home with just our immediate families. For some it was tough, especially for the milestones that were reached, like graduation or a milestone birthday. When we reach those BIG milestones we want to be able not just to shout it from the rooftops but to throw a grand celebration for doing so! How do we do that while being in lockdown?  The creativity started to flow as people had time, time to think, time to plan and time to execute it.  There were virtual birthday and graduation parties, drive by parade with big banners, porch pick up and drop off birthday parties and so much more! The creativity seen during lockdown ...

Pre COVID Celebration!

Image
Dearest Friends, I remember what it was like to social gather, to celebrate birthdays with family and friends pre-COVID. It seems like just the other day we celebrated my littlest turning the big ONE. This week he turns THREE!! 😳 Where does the time go!?! 😭 Zachary's first birthday was our last social gathering as two weeks after COVID hit.😢 I remember the day my baby turned ONE! My husband's job was done so layoffs came the day before Zachary's birthday party.  While I was out spending money we were not making any. Ugh!šŸ˜³šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļøšŸ™ƒ That didn't stop us from celebrating our littlest. It was a time for celebration, a time to gather and a time to shower our boy with all the love on his special day.  We started the day off with Pats Donuts & Kreme in Lima, Ohio. Soooo good, especially their bear claws!!šŸ˜‹ What's your favorite fresh donut place? https://www.patsdonuts.com/ After mouth watering donuts we picked up all the goodies for Zach's party and headed back t...

A Birth Story: To Early To Soon

Image
WARNING: This post may contain TMI (To much information)! If you are a male or get grossed out easily then you may want to stop reading now! I'm warning you, go NO futher! WARNING: If you're pregnant DO NOT READ! Mama go surround yourself with positive birth stories, surround yourself in the beauty of birth and labour. Dearest Friends, When I was 21 years old I stopped having my period. After a few months I decided to look into why. What would cause me to stop having my period!?! After many medical tests, thyroid, diabetes and more no one had answers as to why I stopped having a period or if it would return. All they could tell me was that I wouldn't be able to have children. They wanted to run more tests but it had been months already and still no answers so I decided no more. I felt it was in God's hands. If I was meant to have children then it would happen if not then I was meant to adopt. Either way I was at peace with it all. Bonus was that I rather enjoyed no...
